Shaun and I attended this very good natured ceremony at the Royal Institution of Great Britain in Albemarle St W1 last night – and won!
Talking about the entries generally, Judge Ciaron Dunne (MD at Genie Ventures in Cambridge) said that what shone through every time was Authenticity and passion. This is certainly true of the Ken Bell site, which features engaging photos of the core team, specially commissioned illustrations (created by our in-house illustrator, Ewa) and some highly effective functionality.
Since the launch, visitor traffic to the site via organic searches has risen nearly four-fold and the average time spent per visit has risen from seven seconds to 1 minute 13 seconds. Even more importantly, a new system we installed enabling those wanting to book and pay in advance for online (Skype) training sessions has proved so successful that Ken is having to hold back demand whilst he hires new staff!
Other winners included Foxtons estate agents and the Exporting is Great website of the Department for International Trade. Other contenders for the Corporate Website of the Year award included Coventry University and the British Quality Foundation.
